Here's what to expect:
Intensive training is beneficial for those who want to ‘kick-start’ their English level, prepare for an upcoming meeting, presentation or project at work and/or immerse themselves in the language 24/7. Immersion participants are often already in training with In Focus Europe, though we are also pleased to welcome those who only wish to experience In Focus Europe training through an immersion. We offer immersions in Reading/Oxford, just a short 30-minute train ride from London -- the proximity to London making it an ideal location.
Our goal is to make each and every immersion unique and customised to the needs of the individual. Before their immersion, each trainee will have an in-depth needs analysis to establish their English level and training goals.
It was an intense and well-balanced week. The diversity of the team, the concentration of lessons at the host family's house, and the follow-up of a Lead Teacher ensured a steady progression in the difficulty of the subject matter, which gave me confidence.
Progress was real and noticeable, all in a pleasant and welcoming environment.
One indication of my success is that I have overcome or gotton rid of the daily pressure I felt, and I credit 80% of that to this one immersion experience.
Initially, I was a bit skeptical about the possible lack of social events in my week. However, In Focus Europe interviewed me before my immersion and my week's programme included both professional support and social events.
In fact, I have been on two immersions with In Focus Europe.
It is an enriching experience that allows one to truly work in English intensively for one week. The break makes it possible to disconnect from the normal professional schedule and devote oneself completely to the linguistic part of the stay. The teachers have varied personalities which exposes you to different approaches and avoids monotony.
In addition, having the opportunity to go on a day outing (a visit to Oxford) rounds out the week and adds a cultural and touristic dimension.
Finally, my host family was wonderful and everything was done to make my stay the best possible (lodging, meals, activities outside of the training...)
